Biography

Soprano Kristen Lucas is new to the Southern Arizona music scene, but she's no beginner to music! Kristen has been singing since the age of 11 when she was accepted into Bak Middle School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida. At an early age, she learned music theory, aural skills and musicianship that helped pave the way for her ever-growing passion for music.

Kristen received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music at Minnesota State University at Mankato in 2014. At MNSU, her lead roles were Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, and Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi.


She was a member of the MNSU Concert Choir and Chamber Choir, and served as the soprano section leader for her final two semesters. 

For several semesters Kristen was awarded the Shirley Grundmeier Music Talent Scholarship, and was invited to perform with the Mankato Symphony Orchestra for the Children's concert series, "Mozart in Me" and "Viva Vivaldi", where she dressed up as the famous composers and worked with musicians of the orchestra to bring music to the young community.

While in college, Kristen found her first work as a singer with professional chamber choir From Age to Age under the direction of Dr. Andrew J. Miller. They traveled, providing ethereal musical experiences to small communities all around the state of Minnesota.

Kristen is currently attending the University of Arizona for her Master's in Music studying voice with Dr. Hugo Vera, and establishing herself as a musician in beautiful Southern Arizona. Her upcoming performances are:
